The sustainable development is concepts that can be summarize in a simple sentence: "A development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."
Why this project:
We are currently a group of five students from different background, aiming to realize a final project study which fits in sustainable development.
Currently, humanity faces various challenges, such as: Providing energy services sufficient and adequate for the development; reduce emissions of greenhouse gases; develop alternatives solutions to survive the exhaustion of fossil resources.
Indeed, at a time where fuel or other kinds of fossil energy are being reduced, we have to develop new sources and ideas. People have to think differently and to act differently; we must democratize and integrate renewable energy.
Facing this problem and the opportunities he brings, we decided to start building a new product based on photovoltaic energy. This product should allow people to participate to the energetic transition at their level and simplify their life by offering them great features.
Like others solar devices, the purpose of our project is the use of solar cells to collect energy, and stock it into specific batteries.
Moreover, the first utility of the I-Tree, and like other new products, is to load electronic devices, nevertheless we have decided to add other independent modules. Each module will have a specific utility and will bring special features for the user.
- Speakers, located in the trunk in order to play music easily and at any time.
- Lights, located at the top of the tree for lighting and create an atmosphere.
Moreover, the aesthetic of our product will be a key point to differentiate him from the classic solar panel. Indeed, conventional solar cells are commonly made in standard geometric shapes, and sometimes compromised aesthetics. When we have thought about an idea of project we have think about something that will wander off the beaten track.
In order to improve the performance of our product we decided to aim not only one point in space, but two, one over east in the morning, the other to the west in the afternoon. The dual positioning our panels will allow us to compensate times when a single position does not receive a maximum amount of power when the sun is present.
